UPHF Visits UNESA Regarding Hosting JWG France-Indonesia 2024

Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—In preparation for the France-Indonesia Joint Working Group (JWG) in the field of Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2024, a delegation from the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) visited UNESA on Tuesday, June 6 2023.
The delegation's visit was a follow-up to UNESA's election as the host of JWG 2024. The determination of UNESA as host was based on the results of an agreement between a number of French-Indonesian higher education delegations at the 12th JWG in Valenciennes, France, in June 2022.
JWG is an education sector collaboration group between the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the French government through the Ministry of National Education and Youth.
This program brings together higher education institutions from two countries to consolidate all aspects of ongoing cooperation and develop cooperation in various other fields.
UPHF Chancellor, Prof. Abdelhakim Artiba, in his opening sentence said that UNESA is one of the campuses that has a strong commitment to the field of education apart from its excellence in the fields of sports, arts and disabilities.
"This strength and excellence will be seriously demonstrated in the momentum of the upcoming JWG 2024. UNESA has the potential to become a campus with an educational ecosystem that is very important for the international community in this forum," he said.

Vice Rector for Law, Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd., who was present at the series of activities, said that this momentum was a golden opportunity for UNESA to collaborate on an international scale.
Especially in the aspect of campus branding which is packaged through thematic workshops, sharing sessions, and various discussions between delegates. Apart from that, what is most important is being able to be involved or collaborate in responding to the challenges of education, youth and culture in the world.
Head of the Sub-Directorate for International Affairs, Asrori S.S., M.Pd., revealed that apart from mentoring, the delegation from the leading engineering college in France also discussed various other preparations, such as research collaboration agendas, innovation and student-lecturer exchanges.
In this meeting, the UPHF Chancellor was accompanied by his team. Meanwhile, from UNESA, the Director of Technology, Information, Communication and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Slamet Setiawan, M.A., PhD., and Labschool Director Prof. Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., and their respective staff. []
